Who we are

We are fanatics, pure and simple. We are avid lovers of all things that involve contemporary art, whether that be time in galleries, long dinner parties with favorite artists, or late nights held in discussion of the importance of the work that is being done this very moment, with little recognition. That my friends is the crux of who we are, focused exclusively on the HERE and NOW in the art world.

How to get started

There are two very different distinctions between who uses The Opening.  

The Gallerist account is specific for those that are currently running galleries and maintain an active group of artists whom they are showing.  When registering with us, a Gallerist account will be created, which allows for the display of current work that is available for purchase, whether it be from a show that is presently occurring, or from the past.  The gallerist sets pricing, and will be able to directly sell the work through the website to collectors, where ever they maybe.  

The second group is for us, the Collectors.  A Collectors account will allow for the building of a profile that mirrors the interest and desires for the type of work that one may be searching for or looking to discover.  Besides just the simple idea of searching works out, full communication can happen directly with the gallerist, allowing for a rich and robust interaction.  Discussion of the work is encouraged and begged for.  Remember, we are all fanatics when it comes to our love of great art.

Registration

A quick and easy registration process asks for a spartan set of details,  for a distinctive User name, a password, and of course an email address so that we can get in contact with you.  Aside from that, it is all up to you to determine what you would like to fill in and add in the way of images and information.
